HRADEC KRáLOVé

This weekend I took a trip with some friends to visit two friends who live in Hradec Králové  a small city in Moravia about 1.5 hours away from Prague. We arrived on Saturday afternoon (which was sunny and beautiful, yay!) then went to lunch at a restaurant called Satlava. The restaurant was started in 1538, I believe that was the year, and have been restored over the years to what it is today. I can honestly say it was the most phenomenal place I have ever eaten- the food was incredible, service was good, prices were cheap and the interior and exterior (outdoor seating with beautiful) was lovely. I lunched on a full plate of trout, green...mashed potatoes, veggies, a cappuccino and for dessert I devoured a caramel mascarpone biscuit dessert dish. Amazing.

After lunch we explored Old Town and then headed back to the flat to get ready for the house-warming party. The night was spent meeting medical students, sipping cocktails and snacking on delicious mini pizzas. After a few hours of schmoozing and what not, we headed back out to Old Town to go to Xtreme, a popular bar among students in the city. Spent a few hours there and then around 3 am it was finally time to hit the hay. It was amazing walking home because it was so silent, something you don't get here in Prague. It was incredible that no other living things were out at this hour, especially in a "college town/city". The next morning we enjoyed a great breakfast (well, not me for I drank too much the night before) and then in the afternoon, we walked through Hradec and to the bus station to catch the bus back to Prague.

Even though it was a very short trip, the city is beautiful and definitely a "hidden treasure" of the Czech Republic. We will be returning- and for a longer period of time. If you ever come to the Czech Republic, make sure to stop in Hradec Kralove, even if it's just for an afternoon. You won't regret it! A round-trip Student Agency bus from Prague is 200 korunas all together, that's about $10.

YAY, FRIDAY!

Loving these inspirational articles lately, makes my day a little brighter than it already is- despite Prague's notoriously gray, depressing fall and winters.

This article is one of my favorites so far, it's ''22 Things Happy People Do Differently":

3. See problems as challenges.
4. Express gratitude for what they already have.
5. Dream big.
6. Don't sweat the small stuff.
7. Speak well of others.
8. Never make excuses.
9. Get absorbed into the present.
10. Wake up at the same time every morning.
11. Avoid social comparison.
12. Choose friends wisely.
13. Never seek approval from others.
14. Take the time to listen.
15. Meditate.
16. Eat well.
17. Exercise.
18. Live minimally.
19. Tell the truth.
20. Establish personal control.
21. Accept what cannot be changed.
22. Nuture social relationships.

Most importantly, happy Friday and have a lovely weekend! I'm off to Hradec Králové for the better half of the weekend to celebrate life with some friends!

TRYING OUT THE ULTRABOOK

I think from now on I may be more willing to sit down and write decent posts almost everyday of the week...why?
Because my new laptop just came in!

I ordered a Dell Inspiron 14-inch Ultrabook because I had a big, clunky, HEAVY pink Dell laptop for the past 5 years and it was time to finally upgrade.
Usually when students first go off to college they are gifted with MacBooks, Ultrabooks or iPads but since I was making a big move I figured I could keep the old laptop for another year before it was absolutely necessary to get a new one. My first year of college passed so that meant a new laptop.
I haven't really gone to the Apple side of electronics yet so I wasn't looking for a MacBook but I was definitely interested in a laptop that was light-weight, very travel-friendly/portable and QUIET.
I cannot tell you how many times I would be using my laptop in class or at a coffee shop and it would randomly start making loud noises or just shut off in the middle of my work. Even if I set it down to hard it would shut off.
That wasn't working for me, a college student always on the go and traveling between countries and continents.
So, I finally upgraded and so far, so good. I really like this laptop and hope it will serve me well over the next few years before I consider upgrading to a MacBook or whatever futuristic laptop/tablet type of thing they will have.
I would say that Dell laptops are a good quality and budget-friendly buy. A lot of these laptops have either Skullcandy or Beats speakers so the sound quality is fantastic and are very good for transporting. Dell also has a line of touch-screen laptops (they have a keyboard too, don't worry) that I was looking at but I figured since I already have an touch-screen phone and tablet, I would stick to a standard non-touch laptop. But, if you are all about the touch-screen, I would recommend buying a touch-screen Dell laptop- I've good and only good things about them.

So, there's that. I'm getting myself some tea ready and I'm going to start writing the Barcelona post and a few other posts I've been meaning to share with you all!

Have a lovely Saturday (or Sunday, wherever you are in the world) and as always, travel on wanderlusters!

BUT I'M TIRED OF DRIVING TO WORK

I came across this article regarding the bizarre ways that people commute to and from either work or school. I found this funny because I remember back in high-school, the dad of one of my former best friends' took a kayak to work EVERY morning, regardless of the weather!

So, if you are bored of either taking public transportation to work (like I did when I moved to Prague) or driving to work and getting stuck in traffic (been there, done that too) then here are some other alternatives:

1. Kayak, canoe or paddle-boat to work.
2. Ski or snowboard (if you live in say, Alaska or a region where snow is common).
3. Zipline (the example in the article was in Colombia, South America).
4. Skateboard or longboard.
5. Bike- regardless of the miles. One man bikes 40 MILES every day!
6. Run- again, regardless of the miles. One man runs 10 miles EACH WAY!
7. Unicycle there...if you are that talented.

Hope this makes Friday a little more enjoyable and you have a new way to work starting next Monday! I finished working last Sunday so this is the first Friday I have had off since February, cue the Harlem Shake style dancing.

FREE TRAVEL

Whaaaaat, free travel?! Yes, you read right. Well, some of it is very, very cheap and some are free. I loved reading this article because as a college student who is an extreme wanderluster, you are always looking for budget-friendly or even free travel opportunities. From EscapeNormal, they offered 23 ways to travel for free or close to free, I will give an explanation after each one:

1. Work Away- free food and accommodation just handed to you on a silver platter by families in places throughout the world...in exchange for volunteer work.
2. Escape Normal: Adventure Jobs- (I would assume offered by the website) job postings in many locations doing many different things: exotic retreat centers to kayak guiding.
3. Back door jobs- fear of commitment? me too...this is perfect because it is numerous short-term jobs throughout the world doing the most random of jobs (cheese-churning?).
4. Coolworks- a job search engine in places throughout the world- both long and short term.
5. Retreat Finder- think Bali in Eat, Pray, Love. Bliss.
6. Couchsurfing- you literally couch surf...well not literally, literally, but you sleep on random people's couches...don't worry they have backgrounds checks beforehand so you aren't walking into a death trap. I have had several friends who have done this and said it was a great, free experience.
7. WWOOF- volunteering on farms throughout the world, if you are into agriculture and what not.
8. Help Exchange- similar to the above, but with a wider range of options...volunteer work in exchange for food and accommodation.
9. Footprints TEFL- Teaching foreigners your native tongue for money...good deal, good deal.
10. Kibbutz- volunteer program for about 2 to 6 months, you have to pay a small amount of month to reserve your spot though.
11. Peace Corps- (I have actually considered doing this) it's a 2 year commitment doing volunteer work in one place, no leaving for 2 years so if you can't sit still in one place, don't even think about it. You get paid for your volunteer work and also afterwards until you get on your feet with a stable, steady job.
12. Summer Camp Counselor jobs- exactly what the name says. You can be the one calling the shots this time at summer camp...maybe they will offer band camp?
13. Au Pair- Nannying for families in countries throughout the world, I actually applied for a Au Pair in China but I never heard back :(
14. TEFL (Teach English as a Foreign Language)- again, teaching your native tongue to foreigners in another country for an extended period of time for pay. You have to take online classes and get certified first however.
15. Yacht Crewing- working on a yacht, not a cruise ship...it could be good or it could be horrible and stressful- depending on the yacht owner ultimately.
16. Americorps- a 1-3 year program based on volunteering for social issues (poverty, disease, women's rights, etc.) that you receive a pay for, healthcare, training and another bullet point on your resume/CV.
17. Se7en- free or very cheap volunteer opportunities throughout the world.
18. Home swap- ever seen The Holiday? Think what Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet did, switching their homes when they traveled to the other's country...not sure I would do this, pretty risky if I do say so myself...
19. Caretaker- of a mansion, castle...celebrities and the world's wealthiest hire people to care for their house and pets when they are away for pay, a free stay and a taste of the sweet life.
20. Craigslist Rideshare- forget planes, trains and buses, you can car-pool with other travelers to various places for a small amount of money.
21. Vantage- where you are the trip leader with friends and family...it'll be free for you but not the others.
22. GVI Careers- amazing, interesting and diverse job opportunities throughout the world...might check this out at work today.
23. Idealist- cause-based jobs and volunteer opportunities throughout the world.

Now, yesterday I mentioned I would talk about something I have been thinking about lately, a decision that I think I am going to make in coming weeks, months, maybe in a year. I graduate university with a BA in Journalism and Communications at the extremely young age of 20 (I was one of the youngest in my grade during high school and the BA programs here are only 3 years), so I was planning on just packing up after that summer (2015) and moving to Melbourne, Australia. This was my plan for some time now. However, then I got to thinking, after writing this blog and trying to sort out my life...why would I want to begin working and being committed to a career for the next 30+ years of my life when I am only 20 years old out of college? I should want to travel, explore and see what is out there before I have to plan vacation days and enter the big girl world. So, with that, I think I have decided that I will spend a year, year and a half after university and just travel around to as much places as I can, ending my trips in Melbourne, Australia where I plan to begin my career, my big-girl life and so on. I want to travel to different countries where I would do volunteer work and work in smaller villages to get a little more than the city life experience. I am thinking of maybe going to some places in south-east Asia, New Zealand, South Africa and maybe some central African countries, South America, Hawaii, Philippines, Alaska and maybe Japan. A random island might by nice as well. I have to do my research of course, but I think the volunteer work and travels would be a once in a lifetime experience. Plus, after I start working, have a family, settle down etc., there won't be time to travel when I am young, only when I am old and my knees have officially given out (I have knee problems already at a young age).

P.S. For those of you working this weekend, like myself, here's 17 ways you can be happier at work...who would've thunk...I won't be officially happy for the long-run in a job until I am working with either a travel magazine, fashion magazine or TV station.

1. DON'T COMPARE YOURSELF WITH OTHERS...this is a great tip, it's hard not to but you will only make yourself feel worse if you continue to do (or start doing this).
2. NEVER OBSESS OVER THINGS YOU CANNOT CONTROL...I'm guilty, I'm guilty, I do this too much in every job I work.
3. KNOW AND KEEP YOUR PERSONAL BOUNDARIES AND LIMITS.
4. DON'T OVERCOMMIT YOURSELF OR YOUR TEAM.
5. REMEMBER THAT YOU GET THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME AS EVERYONE ELSE, EVERYDAY (that means on a 24 hour clock).
6. DON'T TAKE YOURSELF SO SERIOUSLY, NO BODY ELSE DOES...I am guilty of this at times, I beat myself up over silly mistakes.
7. DAYDREAM MORE RATHER THAN LESS...I need to do this in work more often.
8. DON'T BOTHER WITH HATE; IT'S NOT WORTH THE EFFORT.
9. MAKE PEACE WITH YOUR PAST LEST IT CREATE YOUR FUTURE.
10. DON'T TRY TO "WIN" EVERY ARGUMENT...hard for those of us who are very stubborn.
11. REMEMBER THAT NOBODY IS IN CHARGE OF YOUR HAPPINESS EXCEPT YOU...so if you don't like your job, get out and try to find a new one that you will be happier at. It's not worth working a shit job that gets you down.
12. SMILE AND LAUGH MORE FREQUENTLY.
13. DON'T WASTE PRECIOUS ENERGY ON MALICE AND GOSSIP.
14. DON'T WORRY ABOUT WHAT OTHERS THINK ABOUT YOU; IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS...when you learn not to care what others think, not only does it improve your work ethic but it improves your overall quality of life and the way you look at thing. Best thing to let go of, ever.
15. TRASH EVERYTHING IN YOUR WORK AREA THAT IS NOT USEFUL OR BEAUTIFUL...sheesh, the trash can is about to be full...
16. REMEMBER THAT HOWEVER BAD (OR GOOD) A SITUATION IS, IT WILL CHANGE NO MATTER WHAT..."there is a reason for everything" or "after a rainstorm there is sunshine."
17. BELIEVE THAT THE BEST IS YET TO COME, NO MATTER WHAT...I absolutely love this. Not only does it apply to work but to life in general.

MID-TERMS & WRITING THOUGHTS

We all love those days right, or at least remember them? They are the WORST. Okay, I shouldn't be complaining because I only have two next week and one the week after but still...the anxiety and stress they cause!

With work four days a week, mid-terms, a gym membership and friends, it's almost as if there is, literally, no time for sleep or eating. Just a few more days and the stress will be...slightly...over. Listen of the day to ease the stress: Cannonball by Showtek and Justin Prime. If you like house music, that is.

The Uruguay study abroad plans are coming along, just a few short until I know from the actual university of I was accepted through them (I was just accepted from my school's end, as I found out a few days ago). So, the process of applying isn't over yet, but soon enough.

Over the past few days I have been thinking about writing and different writing styles. The thoughts started after my reporting class and after talking with a friend. In the class, we are taught to write formally, news-y and, well, it's boring. Honestly, I hate formal and news-like writing. I feel that now-a-days since people are becoming more adapt to the expanding social media networks and more simple, personal communication that we see on our computer screens. Today people, especially the younger generations, want to read articles and posts that are interesting, informal and that feel like you are actually communicating with the person face-to-face even though it's through a screen. God forbid there's a mistake right? It happens, no need for formal ridicule if there's an error in writing. It's hard for me in that class to write so formally since I feel like no one will read it or want to read it because it just doesn't relate to them or reach out to them, it doesn't understand them in  a sense. So, my goal with this blog is to make my readers feel as if they are actually having face-to-face conversation with me, that they can enjoy my random, wanderlust-filled thoughts and share my experiences without boring them to the point they exit out of the window. Who wants to read boring, formal styled blog posts anyways? This is 2013 people, jeeeze. Out with the formal newspaper styled writing and in with this new generation of informal, interesting and personal style writing. Of course important political and world events should be formal but everything else, in my opinion, should be fun, informal, invigorating and personal. What do you think wanderlusters?

Writing for thought...literally...travel on wanderlusters!

Danke! Berlin: Part II

So began Saturday in Deutschland. A morning full, literally full, of hotel breakfast and Dunkin Donuts iced coffee. Well, let's back-track a little. I completely got my days in Berlin mixed up and forgot we went to the Checkpoint Charlie museum before heading to the Turkish quarters for a first night dinner.

Upon walking up to the museum, we stopped inside a small gift shop for a post-card (I collect post-cards when I travel then hang them up on my wall in the flat) and other small items. The two women at the check-out were staring at me and speaking to one another in German. I suppose one of them sensed I knew they were talking about me and the woman in broken English asked me where I was from. I explained I was born in Germany-Bavaria- and was half Czech, half Danish but grew up in the States since I was a young girl and she replied with a laugh saying, "Oooh that is why. My friend here says you look exactly like her daughter, who is German. Welcome home!" I never really thought of it that way, but I saw it as a compliment and smiled back with a 'ahh danke!!'

At the Checkpoint Charlie Museum, I was lucky to get a discount since I am 18 and the youngest in the group of my friends. Those were are 19+ had to pay 12 euros when I only had to pay 6. Ah, the beauty of being a baby! It was pretty fascinating seeing the different objects and pictures in the museum. Reading all the various displays next to the pictures and imagining what it must have been like in that time. I think being in the country, the city especially, where such events happened just 40-50 years ago really makes the experience that much more interesting. You can read about different events in history from other countries around the world, but I think actually being physically in the place where such events happened, is much more beneficial when it comes to learning about the event and opening your mind to different opinions. Or maybe it's just me who is passionate about things/events/visuals mentioned above haha.

So, now, fast forward to Saturday. Saturday was spent walking around a snowy, cold Berlin to all the landmarks and tourists spots. We walked quite a ways until we got the Brandenburg Gate. Took some touristy pictures, did the bridge in front of the gate- people were laughing and taking pictures of me doing this- and just stared up at the enormous landmark in front of our very eyes. Afterwards, we went to the Holocaust memorial across the street, walked through and ended up at a small German cafe for a quick bite to eat. My friend had an amazing dark pink/purple colored Berlin beer that tasted almost like raspberry lemonade. I wanted to get one before the trip ended but I forgot. That's what next time is for, right?! After this, we headed over to the other side of the Gate and grabbed some Starbucks...more like free WiFi ..to plan out our next move. Walking around the Gate afterwards, we took a few pictures with the 'Soviet soldiers' and 'Mario brothers.' Luckily, the sun came out and we had a lovely afternoon with the German sun. We made our way over to the Berlin Dom, took some pictures- I decided to do cart-wheels and ended up ass planting in the snow, defeated by gravity- then just sat and enjoyed the sun setting behind the Berlin Dom and the Berlin Radio Tower. We then stumbled upon a vintage shop and tried on some clothes and passed by a sign on the way back to the hotel advertising the Man City game that night in the pub. So, we rushed home, got ready and headed back to the pub for some beers and good old football.

Apparently, it was the night of a huge bachelor party, so we were the only girls in the whole pub...along with wasted middle-aged men. A few free beers later and a headache from the screaming men, we decided it was time for a Thai dinner. It turned out we didn't know how much beer we drank so we had a pretty interesting dinner full of noodles everywhere and red faces from laughing for an hour straight. Then came the time for the big night out in Berlin. We went into the metro with not a clue where to go and no idea how to get anywhere. We always joke that my friend has a "Norwegian radar" because whenever we are out, especially in foreign countries, she can find herself a group of Norwegians. In the metro, she walked just around the corner and found herself two Norwegian guys who had a plan for the night- a plan that would soon include us. So, we went with the two and let them navigate us throughout the Berlin night and take us to a uh, sketchy, alley-way club.

Before getting into the club, they asked for our IDs...what...a first in Europe, we laughed, handed them over and almost got denied access because we had Czech and Scandinavian, not German, IDs. Five minutes later we were inside a dark, smoky filled club that was most definitely a strip club after midnight hours. One of my friends and I weren't feeling the whole atmosphere so we gave up and decided to go home. The other two followed shortly after. In the blink of an eye, it was Sunday- the day we were heading back to reality in Prague. We quickly got ready, packed our bags and stuffed ourselves for the day with hotel breakfast.

Our last day in Berlin was spent at the Berlin Gallery (the Berlin Wall memorial) staring at the vast variety of art on the loooooooooooooong wall. We then made our way to Balzac Coffee- we thought the name was hilarious- to warm up then walked around Alexanderplatz for our last few hours in Germany before the bus headed off into the night back to Prague. We made it just about 30 minutes before the bus was due to leave and settled in our seats for the next 5 hours. I spent the entire time working on uni work and attempting to get a few minutes of shut eye.

Aaaand that concludes the Berlin, Germany weekend trip. The land of my birth couldn't have been better. I will definitely be going back. The pretzels and curry-wurst to die for. Luckily for us, they just opened a curry-wurst shop right down the street from my university. I sense curry-wurst induced obesity in the near future.

Travel on wanderlusters! I will be slipping, sliding and wiping out in the fresh snow all day!

Part I: Baaaa Daaaa Boooooom....BERLIN!

FINALLY! The long awaited, much anticipated...I hope...post about the Berlin, Germany girl's weekend trip a few weeks ago.

With almost no sleep and a 6:00 (AM) alarm clock buzzing right next to my face, my room-mate/best friend and I met our other friend at the metro station to trudge our half asleep selves to the bus station where we would meet our other friend. At 7:00 sharp, sitting in the sweaty hot waiting area, we boarded the Student Agency bus to Berlin, Germany!

I was so excited because I had never been to Germany for more than just a few hours in the smoke-filled airport. Well, I take that back. I was actually born in Germany and I lived there when I was a baby but of course I don't remember it whatsoever. Since we didn't make it to Munich for Oktoberfest last semester, we decided we needed to go to Germany sometime shortly before uni started second semester. Attempting to sleep on a bus though...yeah, not so good. I stuck to watching movies and listening to the surprisingly great playlist the Student Agency bus had to offer. If you ever travel within Europe, Student Agency is one of the best travel options if you want to go via bus. Super comfortable, great service, the tea is delicious and best of all, it's one of the cheapest- if not the cheapest- option for traveling around Europe. Yeah, it might take a little longer than a plane but you will save quite a bit of money!

Love my ladies- doing the whole Berlin tourist thing.

Our first curry-wurst...was the tits.

My girls are such babes...before the 'American coffee' break in McDonald's...yeah, McDonald's in Germany, we were ashamed.

THEY HAD DUNKIN DONUTS!!!!!!!! Most importantly, they had DD iced coffee :))

Trying to find the Checkpoint Charlie Museum after a day of Urban Outfitters, curry-wurst and Dunkin Donuts!

The happy Swede!

And the happy Norwegian!

One of my favorite pictures from the fall of the Berlin Wall-in the Checkpoint Charlie Museum

The view after seeing the naked man in the woods...yes, the naked man.

My favorite blonde are the silliest.

Love from Berlin!

People thought I was a land-mark, so they took pictures too.

Berlinale Red Carpet!

Beautiful Berlin Dom in the late afternoon.

I ass-planted in the snow right after this picture was taken- the big tour group was laughing at me...HA!

Fully appreciating my land of birth.

Exploring the university campus surroundings before the flea market.

We got to Berlin around noon-ish on a Friday and the girls were eager to head to Urban Outfitters since they don't have one here in Prague. Before doing that, we headed over to the hotel after broken ticket machines, not enough euros and getting really lost on the metro. In the midst of all that shenanigans...my suitcase wheels broke off. I can't carry heavy things due to a back/neck injury so I had to drag it along in the snow with it scraping the sidewalk the entire way. We get to the hotel finally and discover it's sort of like one of those horror movie hotels but has a sort of quaintness to it. The elevator didn't work or maybe it just didn't support all of our weight...eh....so we ran up the stairs and into our room. Cute and cozy with the highest ceilings I have ever seen and the smallest TV screen. But Berlin isn't about the TV in the hotel room, right? We went out to explore and try our first curry-wursts of the trip after freshening up in the hotel room.

On the way, I discovered a...DUNKIN DONUTS!! I screamed like a little girl in a candy shop who was just told she could buy anything and everything she wanted. Back in the states, I lived off DD iced coffees. I ran inside and got myself one. Okay, it didn't taste as great but still satisfied the long overdue craving. We then walked up the long, and I mean LONG shopping street in Berlin with all the expensive shops and boutiques. Finally, after a 20 minute walk with alternating sun shining in our faces and clouds over our heads, we ended up at Urban Outfitters- the best part was the fact they had free WiFi. Afterwards, we experienced the magic of our first curry-wurst. I'm all for trying new foods and weird looking foods but this one had me questioning whether or not it would be worth it. I closed my eyes and took a bite and was so surprised at the different tastes in my mouth. When you go to Berlin, the stands are okay but the best one was called Curry36.

Some more exploring, getting lost and oogling over the gorgeous German boys...again, I was surprised...we headed over to the Turkish area of Berlin and got ourselves a proper Turkish dinner. Hands down, the BEST rice pudding I have ever tasted in my life. As I always say, "sex in my mouth". Sorry for the little ones who could possibly be reading this- just bleep that out. The food was pretty good too even though we were rushed out seeing as the line was forming outside the door. Exhausted from walking around the city all the day and, of course, traveling all morning, we decided our big night out would be Saturday. So, we walked the day's worth of curry-wurst off back to the hotel and slept like babies in the big, fluffy white beds, dreaming of the hotel breakfast awaiting us in the morning.

Aaaaand tomorrow Part II will be posted. Have a lovely Tuesday- my day will be spent sleeping, doing some homework and eating Nutella and strawberries...it's healthy...ish.

I sleep, I sleep, I sleep.

It most definitely is hibernation season...or maybe I am just a college student who got used to a messed up sleep schedule? I went to bed last night several hours earlier than I have been for the past week...only to wake up 12 hours later at 13:20 (1:20pm)! I have slept between 12 and 15 hours every day for the last week, except for yesterday when I had the job interview. Still, I can't sleep like this in Rome or I will literally sleep my vacation away! On the bright-side, I woke up to a fantastic email that literally made me jump out of my bed. Don't you just love those emails? I sure do.

Today is a lazy, snow-filled kind of day with tea and pizza...oh and a wine cellar party later. Not so sure about the wine after my New Years Eve experience. Hmm, well off to catch up on some more Revenge with a warm slice of pizza in my hands and a bunch of blankets.

Empire State of Mind

"Now you're in New York, These streets will make you feel brand new, Big lights will inspire you, Hear it for New York, New York, New York!"...you know the rest, at least I hope you do. You know that Alicia Keys, Jay-Z song that makes you really want to go there when it comes on the radio, or rather when it came on the radio.
So, why am writing about New York? Am I in the Big Apple for New Year's Eve...no, I sure wish I was though! I'm writing about it because I will be going there next week for 3 days and 2 nights.
I LOVE New York City, ever since I was little I have loved that city. Definitely one of my favorites. I have always wanted to live there when I grew up and maybe I will after I experience some more of the world and live in Australia for a while. We will see where my plane tickets and mind take me!
There is so much to do today...including a special New Year's Eve dedicated post later this afternoon.

Library Excitement

My last few days have been spent studying...then passing out...in the library. Exam time, oh how I love you. I noticed this...odd...guy at the library. He always looks so scared, it makes me laugh even though libraries are supposed to be silent.

Oh, the little joys of studying in a new place.

In more exciting news, going to visit some family in Moravia this weekend so think nature and pretty Czech countryside. Hopefully it won't snow again this time and we can go  explore in the forests and hidden areas. Then next week is Swedish House Mafia's last concert tour here in Prague...cannot...wait. I'm getting antsy just typing this.

The following day? Quite possibly a spontaneous trip to Budapest for the weekend! Keep you posted, the wanderlust in me in kicking into high gear now.

Travel on wanderlusters!

P.S. How are YOU celebrating Thanksgiving? I'm eating some good ole sweet potatoes, turkey then going to a house-warming party of a friend...European Thanksgiving might not be so bad after all.

Travel Plans

As much as I wish I took this fabulous picture, it's not mine, I nabbed it off Pinterest. It's in Prague though!
Made me realize how much I need to travel as soon as possible...so we are taking a spontaneous trip to Budapest in two weekends...the day after the Swedish House Mafia concert (their last tour and I am SO SUPER EXCITED).

It'll be interesting because I am driving and haven't driven in 4 months...and it's the day after this super, epic, legendary last tour concert. So...we will see how it goes. I'm really looking forward to this because I haven't traveled in over a month since the Paris weekend trip. TOO LONG!

Then, after that...EXAM WEEK

This Weekend

Will be spent in Brno! The 2nd biggest city in the Czech Republic, that is to the east of Prague. So, just what will I be doing there? Visiting family and relaxing before midterms. Doesn't get much better than that. Oh, and exploring of course!

Pictures soon, but in the meantime, travel on wanderlusters!
