2015 Means Big Things

I broke my promise.
The promise that I would blog again more.
But there's a perfectly good excuse as for why that promise was broken and it's something called life.

Lame excuse, huh?
I can't tell you how quickly the last year and a half slipped by. I know a blogged here and there during that time but not as consistently as I used to.

I started off 2015 though with several goals in mind and one of them was to start blogging again. Over the last year and half I've been on a journey of what some would say 'self-discovery'; learning about the ins and outs of myself and the wide, wide world out there.
While I haven't traveled much, except between the United States and Europe, 2014 was a pretty monumental year. I'll be honest and admit it was definitely not my favorite years and I'm VERY glad that it's over but the lessons I learned and the improvements I've made will stick with me forever. One of the major things that changed was my writing and my ability to express myself through my writing. So, I'm very excited to write more on TWW and share my thoughts with fellow wanderlusters!

I'm really looking forward to this year (and the years that lie ahead). Some big things are going to happening this year. I'll get those 'big things' in future posts but I'm positive that these big things will make for good blog posts on Traveling with Wanderlust.

I also hope that I can share with you all more than just travel, but also my passion for style and fashion, my (usually sad, pathetic) attempts at cooking and baking, my yoga and meditation practices, photos which spark something wonderful inside me and just daily thoughts/short stories/poems I write.

Another major happening which will occur this year is the release of my first book. I've been working like a maniac the last year or so on writing, editing and ultimately finishing my first fiction drama/mystery novel. I won't disclose anymore as I want to keep it as much of a surprise as possible but I hope that once it is finished and published, I can share some of my thoughts, reasons and what not behind the book with you all!

Here's to a New Year and new beginnings either with old projects/things or entirely new ones.
Happy traveling and a wonderful Monday to all you wanderlusters out there!

P.S. Keep your eyes peeled for a post tomorrow morning- U.S. time, so afternoon for all my other global readers! :)

MUST-HAVES FOR FALL

Fall not only means the start of a new season but it is also my favorite season! Pumpkin flavored desserts, pumpkin spice lattes, cool and crisp mornings, the leaves start changing colors, classes start again, Thanksgiving, just everything is great in the fall! It makes me so happy when September finally comes. Fall also means it's the best season for fashion. Think faux fur, jeans, skinnies, booties, boots, gloves, sweaters, leggings, leather and just pure fabulous-ness.

So in light of the start of fall, I felt the need to share some must-own items for fall 2013:

1. Zip-up back dress
2. "Skittle pointed heel" from ASOS
3. Jean jacket or vest
4. Windowpane print pants
5. Chunky, pretty, simple necklace
6. Leather shorts
7. Vans classic slip-ons...or Keds, yes, Keds
8. Striped body-con dress
9. The "perfect" jean
10. Animal print flats
11. Grunge flannel shirt
12. Holographic satchel

IT'S ALL ABOUT...HAIR

Today, I am going to talk about HAIR. Yes, hair, that stuff on your head. Some of us love our hair and some of us hate our hair. I think I have a love-hate relationship with mine. Most days I am pretty content with it but other days I just throw it up in a bun and don't want to even waste another second thinking about it.

However, in the summer, it's a mostly hate relationship with my hair. The humidity gets the best of it and makes it all yucky and stuff. This summer hasn't been too bad with the humidity but there have been some days where I just wanted to rip it all out. Lately, I have been thinking of completely switching up my look to a long bob with ombre at the bottom. I'm super nervous about it so who knows if it will actually happen but it's a good possibility at the moment.

On my search for different hair products and styles, I came across two articles that are quite helpful.
The first article , "10 Excellent Treatments Under $15" caught my eye:
1. Aussie 3 Minute Miracle (I have used this and love it).
2. Shea Moisture Raw Shea Restorative Trauma Masque (This isn't under $15 but it is under $16!)
3. TRESemme Split Remedy Leave-In Split End Treatment (My absolute favorite, works wonders).
4. Rusk Deepshine Smooth Keratin Care Treatment (Apparently very good if you have colored hair- like me!)
5. Organix Macadamia Oil Intensive Mask (I have used Organix products before and love them).
6. John Frieda's Full Repair Touch-Up Flyaway Tamer (At first I thought it was mascara, hmm).
7. Neutrogena Deep Recovery Hair Mask (Also not under $15 but under $20 but if they are good with the face they should be good with the hair, right?!)
8. Optimum 6-in-1 Miracle Oil (Almost sounds too good to be true!)
9. Garnier's Fructis Fall Fight Hair Strand Saver Spray (You would think it'd make more sense to be a Summer Fight...)
10. Clear Therapy Balm (I love me a good balm).

As for the second article, I will give you a link but just list the different hair styles for ombre hair- since you  know that is the "it" girl hairstyle at the moment:
1. Half up/half down
2. Ombre top knots
3. Medium curly
4. Long bobs
5. Loose wavy
6. Twisted hair
7. Braided headband
8. Waterfall braided
9. Ponytail comes last

Happy Saturday! I am still resting and recovering from yesterday's surgery but it is going really well so far so hopefully I will be up and at it again in no time.

DAISY DUKES, BIKINIS ON TOP

"Sun-kissed skin so hot will melt your popsicle, ooooh oh ooooh." It's about that time of year, SUMMER! I'm guessing that you need some new swimsuits, yet you don't know where to look. So, this one is for you, here ya go!
I love swimsuits but I don't love wearing them, if that makes any sort of logical sense. I oogled over these pieces and thought that I would share with my fellow wanderlusters in the same boat.

Here are this summer's picks:
VS Leopard Cutout One Piece
VS Paisley Push-up Triangle Top
Polka Dot Fringe Monokini
High-waisted Polka Dot Set
Neon One-shoulder Monokini
Striped Corset and High-waisted Set
Halter and High-waisted Set

We are off to Switzerland for the weekend, meaning Swiss chocolate and cheese, overpriced water bottles, beautiful lakes and nature, out of this world mountains and fresh air (I would hope...)

P.S. This is one of the funniest articles I have ever come across...like, are these people serious?

STORM BEFORE THE CALM

Hope you wanderlusters enjoyed the Czech Republic post, I loved writing it!

This next week and the week after are going to be CRAAAAZY. So if I am not posting that often, no need to fret, there will be plenty of posts to come after this period of madness is over. Just what kind of madness? Studying for final exams, celebrating my best friend's birthday, packing up the flat and moving to the new flat, hosting my best friend from the States when she comes and getting ready to finalize the semester/internship/student newspapers before traveling to Switzerland, Budapest, Paris, Amsterdam and Barcelona.

I will be posting an interior design post on Monday and then the next country post sometime next week but after that expect some silence for a few days...as much as I hate it, I need to focus on my final exams and moving -___-

As promised, here are some of my favorite pieces this season:
Ladies:
1. Striped espadrilles
2. Blinged out statement necklaces
3. Spiked snapbacks

Gents:

Until the next post, travel on wanderlusters!

P.S. Today and one more day of work then I am a freeeeee woman! Wa-hoooo!

SPRING IN THE GOLDEN CITY

The past few days have been filled with sun, warm breezes and good company. Therefore, I have been MIA, yet again, my deepest apologizes!

The end of the spring semester (I only have 4 semester left...what?!) is quickly approaching so the pressure is on and I'm trying to knock all my work out as soon as possible. Also, since I am moving to another flat within the next month, I am trying to keep the stress down.
With the flowers blooming and weather, it's becoming increasingly harder to do so because there are one too many temptations just drop it all and head to the beer garden or the park with my girls. Nothing beats Czech beer either, so the temptation is unbelievable. I keep telling myself to get my work done, study for my finals then I can enjoy Czech beer while walking across Charles Bridge and attempt to tan my extremely pale skin...pretty sure I could blind someone at this point in time...

For my fashion internship with CollegeFashionista, I have been busy typing away various articles on the adorable spring wardrobes of students around campus. My recent articles have inspired me to share a cute look with the ladies who read Traveling with Wanderlust. This season I am loving skater skirts, studded/spiked sandals and graphic tees. I need to get back home to America for the summer so I can stock up at Forever 21!

I am going to work on the last part of the Italy post this evening then I will write a post (the following day), that is somewhat personal, about how I discovered my passion for writing. I love sharing this story with others and actually wrote a book on it that I sent to publishers...still waiting to hear back from several. So, you will get to read a little about me- a break from daily travel posts.

Back to class- travel on wanderlusters!
