WHO DOESN'T LOVE A EUROPEAN BEACH?
Now, I don't know about you all but this girl right here LOVES European beaches. I spent 10 days in Barcelona this month, where the beach(es) is GORGEOUS.
Granted, a majority of my days there were spent sleeping through siesta and then exploring the city but the beach definitely left an imprint in my Spain memories.
Most of my childhood summers were spent on the beaches of Europe. Several that I remember include the beaches of Greece and Croatia; Tunisia as well even though it's in Africa but the beach was just too beautiful not to mention here.
So, the point of this post is: if any of you wanderlusters are spending some time in Europe this summer, be sure to head over to at least one of these beaches:
1. Smuggler's Cove, Zakynthos, Greece
2. Badeschiff, Berlin, Germany
3. Gozo, Malta
4. Grenen, Skagen, Denmark

LAST SATURDAY
So, sometimes your day does not always go as planned...This was last Saturday for me.
Last Saturday I was supposed to attend a family graduation party in the afternoon and spend some time with my sister before that. However, my best friend woke me up to go to the mall with her and when we were leaving the mall we made a spontaneous decision to go get her nose pierced. Well, with this spontaneous decision came a car accident or rather, we were rear-ended by an SUV at about 35-40 mph (56-64 km/h).
A couple summers ago I was involved in a car accident where the car was totaled and I suffered whiplash, so after this incident I knew my neck was in for a little treat. After the adrenaline rush from being in an accident, I started to feel swelling and pain in my neck. I rang for an ambulance and was taken to the nearest hospital by ambulance. Spent some quality time in a stretcher in middle of a bustling emergency room. Several hours and x-rays later, I was told I had an acute neck injury and should just take it easy for the following days.
Just me, some muscle relaxers and pain killers with a side of True Blood and Pretty Little Liars. Life is relaxing..except for the whole neck shenanigans. Maybe NOW I will have some quality time to write these travel posts.

I FORGOT HOW MUCH I MISSED HOME
I expected to wake up this morning to sunshine, birds chirping, smell of coffee coming from my Keurig and do a dramatic getting out of bed scene....nope, clouds, silence (which is SO nice after being in a city the last 5.5 months) and my legs tangled in my comforter. Except I woke up at home, in America, for the first time in almost half a year, so I guess that compensates for the lack of birds chirping, fresh coffee and sunshine. Maybe tomorrow?
I spent my morning wondering why on Earth I was drinking hot coffee (from my Keurig) and a cold fresh fruit smoothie. I was alternating between the two and realized that a) my teeth will be screwed and b) my tummy will not be so happy with me in following minutes. Granted, I was in a daze staring outside and my uber green backyard while I was alternating but I snapped to and decided to focus on drinking the first quality cup I have made in over 5 months. Let me tell you, I cannot make a cup of coffee for shit when in Prague. My coffee machine there is a joke and the instant coffee makes my gag reflex present. You get the idea, right?
Oh and of course I spent my morning in my bed watching Good Morning America and relaxing. I forgot how much I missed the little things about home and everyone at home while I was away at school. I am so happy to be home though and cannot wait to be here again for 4 months if I end up going to Uruguay during the spring of 2014.
I'm spending the day celebrating Father's Day seeing as yesterday I had an array of errands and Sunday, the actual Father's Day, was spent between Barcelona, Geneva and New York City. Most importantly though, I will be writing the posts on my recent travels and the long ago promised GUAM post. I know, I am really late....but it's better than never getting it!

HOMEBOUND
It's that time we all dread: the end of a vacation.
My vacation has been about 3 weeks long so it's almost like finishing a reaaaally, really good chapter in a book. The last three weeks have been spent between Prague, Budapest, Prague again, Paris, Amsterdam and Barcelona; the best 3 weeks I've had in a LONG time. Don't worry the post on these wonderful places will be live this coming week after I've settled in back home a little bit.
It's so weird to think that I will be going home to America after 5 months of not being there, well, it's almost been 6 actually...strange...by this time tomorrow I will be in New York City with my mom and two sisters, I'm so excited!
But for the rest of today, we are loading up on paella and tapas and finishing the night by watching the sun set on the Mediterranean Sea. It doesn't get much better than that.

YES, I AM STILL ALIVE
Well, well, well...look who it is! You all are probably thinking that, am I right?
I know, I know, I'm sorry, I've been traveling and relaxing but that's no excuse for leaving my wanderlusters in the dark.
Let me bring you up to speed: we started our eurotrip with Switzerland then headed to Budapest and from Budapest we came back to Prague, I organized the new flat and situated myself there for several days, there was a horrible flood in Prague but we fled to Paris then from Paris we took a long, long bus ride to Amsterdam...we actually got off at the wrong stop in the Netherlands so we were god knows where but somehow figured out how to get to Amsterdam...then we slept in a FREEZING airport overnight and took a 6am flight to beautiful Barcelona! We have been in this beautiful-beyond-words city for the past few days and will be here until Sunday the 16th.
The days have mushed together with going out at night, exploring, sightseeing, eating, drinking, enjoying, soaking up the sun, wandering, taking pictures and just enjoying life. I could live like this forever!
I promise that as soon as I come back from vacation that I will write posts about each city and get the ball rolling once again. I think I might be taking advantage of being on vacation :o)
